Ownership & Use
- The cabin remains the property of R&J’s Portable Cabins at all times.
- This is a commercial hire agreement, not a residential tenancy.
- No structural or decorative changes may be made without written approval.
- The cabin must be kept clean, undamaged, and returned in good condition with all keys and chattels.
Fees & Bond
- Up to 2 weeks’ rent in advance and a bond of up to 5 weeks may be required.
- Any rent increases require 30 days’ notice and can’t occur more than once every 90 days.
- A penalty applies for early termination within the minimum 6-month hire term.
Delivery & Removal
- R&J’s Portable Cabins is not liable for any damage caused during delivery, relocation, or uplift.
- The hirer is responsible for any land damage or access issues during delivery/removal.
- After the 6-month term, 2 weeks’ notice is required for pickup.
Termination
- The owner may terminate the agreement and collect the cabin immediately if payments are overdue (21+ days),
or if there’s serious damage, threats, or breach of contract. - The owner reserves the right to enter the property and remove the cabin at any time in accordance with the
agreement.
Inspections & Entry
- Inspections or maintenance require notice and occur during daylight hours unless urgent.
Other Responsibilities
- The hirer is responsible for obtaining any necessary Resource Consent (contact your local franchisee).
- The hirer must use the cabin lawfully and not sub-let or relocate it without consent.
- All delivery and pickup costs are the hirer’s responsibility.
- Promotions – Free delivery offers apply only to qualifying hires and may exclude additional costs like crane or Hi-ab hire.
